Tzfat 255

Rose of Sharon (hibiscus) in Tzfat (or Safed).
Window grate in background is painted blue, like many other detailing in Tzfat. It is a holy city, the origin of Kabalah. The blue represents the sky, where the Almighty resides; painting things blue brings the Lord to Earth, allowing his presence to be felt around us, and protect us from evil spirits.
